Crx roll cage build.
I m building an scca nasa spec 8 point cage.
This car will feature an all aluminum 351 w putting out 750 hp and backed by a 4 speed 480le gm automatic transmission.
My cage mounts on the platform area in the back not the floor and i was going to build one to mount to the floor.
4 and 8 point roll bars manufactured from 1 3 4 x 134 wall mild steel tubing.
Our 89 crx si is set up for h4 and scca it.
The custom ford 9 inch will have 35 spline floating axles.
Most tubes are notched.
An 8 point roll cage includes a main hoop a windshield brace across the roof a back brace sides subframe struts and gussets.

I would not plan for a bolt in cage based on my experience with this build.

Roof hoop windshield bars and dash bar are not notched.
After hearing what dave d said i think i may keep the location the same and just change the down bars from the wheel wells to a bar welded between the strut towers.

What size tubing to use what grade of tubing to use and mounting points.

I will be running the car in scca autocross events.
Either way jegster has it and what s in between.

Keep it simple with a jegster 4 point roll bar kit or go all the way with a 12 point cage.
I also am planning on running a 5 point harness and would like to add the mounting points on the cage.
That is about as minimal as one can go and have fun and be competitive.
